About
Beth A. Turner, LCSW-R
My practice is developed on the understanding that our relationship with CHRIST plays a central role both in finding meaning in challenging or painful experiences and in healing from them. In the context of this loving, compassionate, and safe relationship, transformative renewal can take place.
For over 15 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with adults of all ages in their journeys to find relief, restoration, and growth. My practice experience includes work with trauma, stress, life transitions, loss, depression, anxiety, sleep issues, mood swings, and performance improvement, among others. I am certified in trauma-focused therapy and trained in multiple research-based trauma resolution methods (EMDR, PC, and Flash). I integrate Scripture-based, CHRIST-centered interventions within the framework of trauma-focused therapy.
Trauma Resolution
Let's Talk Trauma
For the purposes of the work I do, anything that overwhelms your ability to cope in the moment can be traumatic. When we reach a place of overwhelm, the natural processing systems can't work the way they were created to. This often leaves stuck stuff (feelings, thoughts, behaviors, body sensations) that can get activated just trying to live everyday life. This is what underlies those times that our reactions don't seem to match the situation or our values.
Resolved. Really?
GOD created us with the capacity to heal from these experiences. Trauma resolution provides us with a way to become HIS allies in getting unstuck. These research-based strategies have been shown to significantly reduce and/or eliminate the lingering effects of overwhelming and traumatic events. When we are no longer burdened by strong emotions, negative beliefs, sinful habits, and uncomfortable physical feelings we can really lean in to our relationship with CHRIST.
